2023 Hsc Industrial Technology Major Projects
On Tuesday 29th August, marking of the Year 12 HSC Industrial Technology Major Projects was conducted by NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA). This process involves external markers appraising the student’s production of a Major Project and a supporting Folio document which outlined the design development, related research, and management of their Major Project. Some Folios documents were up to 80 pages and show comprehensive detail of the production process.
On show are projects in the following Industrial Technology strands of Metal, Timber, and Multimedia. In Metal projects included trailers, workbenches, log splitter, stock weigh crate, ute tray, ute back storage & dog box, air engines, outdoor kitchen, and kennels. In the Timber strand projects include a roll top desk, entertainment unit, side tables, dovetail jewellery box, a reptile enclosure, hall stand, tallboy dresser, coffee table, blanket box, and dart board cabinet. In Multimedia the students presented a range of video productions, web page, some involving 3D model creations and many other interesting digital concepts.
The student work is a culmination of almost 12 months’ work and the quality of work is very pleasing. The teaching staff have provided great support to the students, and we expect HSC results to reward the students for their efforts. For many of the students, their result in Industrial Technology will be the best result they achieve in their HSC due to the practical nature of this subject. Many of these students will seek work in the agricultural sector, trades and some will be aspiring to progress onto University.
