Every two years, Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School proudly hosts Tamworth Agricultural Careers Expo Day. This biennial event will next occur on Thursday 11th June, 2026. This highly anticipated event successfully inspires and educates students about the diverse career opportunities available in agriculture and related industries, provides a captive audience for industry representatives to pitch their apprenticeship and employment opportunities, inform prospective students about pathways to and through their company and share their expertise with hands-on industry displays, live demonstrations and workshops.
A Day of Engagement and Learning
The Expo host more than 45 exhibitors, including prospective employers, universities, educational organisations, and industry experts,
attended to showcase career pathways within the agricultural sector.
Highlights of the Expo include:
- Industry Sponsor Presentations – Attendees gained insights from leading industry experts.

Live Demonstrations – Featuring Drone Flying, Working Dogs, Shearing, Wood Chopping, Farm Vehicle Safety Demonstrations, and more.
- Student Auctioneering Challenge – Students showcased their auctioneering skills in a live challenge.
- Interactive Stands – Hands-on experiences engaged and inspired future agricultural professionals.
The Agricultural Careers Expo welcomes secondary students from both public and private schools across the Tamworth region and beyond.
Schools from Coonabarabran, Inverell, Armidale, Glen Innes, Upper Hunter, the Coast, and as far north as Tenterfield.
With over 1,200 students and teachers in attendance, the event provides a valuable opportunity for young individuals to network, ask
questions, and explore pathways into a rewarding career in agriculture.
