Year 7 Enrolment Process
The process to apply to enrol at Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School for Year 7 students differs for Day Students and Boarders, due to a new process introduced in 2022 to enable early admission for Boarders.
Early entry offers for agricultural boarders - How it works
- An early entry offer process has been developed to benefit students from regional and remote areas applying for boarding at an agricultural selective high school.
- Similar to University early entry, students will be considered for an early entry offer upon submitting their online selective high school application.
- Students must complete an application for residential boarding and submit with evidence of academic achievement.
- The opportunity for an interview with Farrer may be extended to boarding student applicants. This will enable the school to get to know the student, their interests, and readiness for a boarding school experience.
- Following the consideration of a student’s geographic (rural and remote) location, academic achievements and readiness for boarding experience, an early entry offer may be made.
- Offers will be confirmed once the Selective Schools Test results are released. If their results are consistent with their school academic achievements, their place at Farrer is assured.

YEAR 5: TERM 3 Register your son to attend our Farrer Experience Day through our website. Experience attending classes, meeting the teachers and seeing our facilities. Spend the day with us to see what it would be like to be a Farrer student. |

YEAR 5: TERM 4 Potential boarding students must register for the NSW Selective Schools Test. Visit the Selective Schools website for useful information, including sample test papers, which will help prepare your son for the exam. Farrer student interviews will commence through invitation. This will help the school get to know the student, their interests, and readiness for a boarding school experience. |

YEAR 6: TERM 1 Join us for the Farrer Open Day. Visit the Farrer website to register. Explore our exceptional facilities and learn more about Farrer’s broad curriculum, academic and employment pathways. Selective Schools Test registrations close. Early entry boarding offers will be sent to successful students by the close of Term 1. |
