2025 Farrer NZ Tour
The 2025 NZ Tour kicked off bright and early, as 19 Farrer boys, Mr. Marshman, and Mr. Carroll boarded the 4am bus for an adventure across the ditch. Touching down in Auckland, they reunited with legendary guide Marek and settled into HAKA House—stylishly dressed in Ariat and RB Sellars gear, of course.
Day one featured a deep dive into New Zealand rugby heritage at the All Blacks Centre of Excellence and a jaw-dropping view from the Sky Tower before training with Auckland Suburbs RFC. Saturday brought the boys’ first match against Maclean’s College, who delivered a powerful Haka and relentless play. Despite Farrer’s grit, Maclean’s took the win.
The team then headed south to Rotorua, taking in the lush countryside and Rotorua’s iconic geothermal landscape. At Te Puia, they explored Māori traditions, geysers, and crafts. Monday amped things up with luge races (featuring Marshman’s unforgettable crash) and a cultural evening full of hangi and haka.Tuesday’s match against Whakarewarewa was a nail-biter. With help from new mates Malcolm and Ty, Farrer edged out a victory thanks to standout efforts from Darcy Taylor and Henry Hubbard. The week wrapped with Redwood forest walks and a final shopping spree near Auckland Airport.
Big thanks to Marek for the smooth rides and to Mrs. Mathews for making the magic happen behind the scenes. Farrer boys did us proud—on and off the field.
