2025 Public Education Week
Congratulations to two outstanding members of the Farrer community who were recognised at the Public Education Week Award Ceremony held
at Nemingha Public School.
Bateson Pittman was recognised for his exceptional achievements in agriculture, leadership, and service. A dedicated student of the
Certificate II in Agriculture, Bateson consistently excels in both practical and theoretical areas, from livestock handling to fleece
judging. Bateson leads the school’s Sheep Show Team, guiding fellow students in livestock preparation and competition. Beyond the farm,
Bateson has served on the Student Representative Council since 2020 and is currently a Year 7 Boarding Prefect, known for his maturity, work
ethic, and commitment to others. He also runs his own Merino stud, earning national recognition, including the 2024 National Merino Young
Judge title and Walcha’s 2025 Australian Youth Citizen of the Year. His drive, humility and leadership make him a truly deserving recipient.
Daniel Murphy was recognised for his unwavering dedication as a volunteer with Farrer Rugby Union. Over the past three years, Murph has
consistently gone above and beyond, offering his time, support and encouragement to students without hesitation. His commitment extends far
beyond game days as he genuinely cares for the growth and well being of every student he supports. Through his guidance, he’s helped shape
not only strong players but also strong character, instilling values like resilience, teamwork and discipline. Our school is incredibly
fortunate to have Murph as part of our community, and we are extremely grateful for his extraordinary service.
