Exploring NERAM 2025
Congratulations to Year 11 student Benjamin Cunningham and Year 9 student Lachlan Penberthy, who were both finalists in University of New England School Acquisitive Art Prize (UNESAP) for 2025. Ben composed a graphite portrait of his girlfriend titled ‘Drawn to You’ and Lachlan created a pencil sketch of a ram’s skull titled ‘Study of a Sheep Skull’. Only 59 student finalists were selected from 583 student entries submitted from 50 schools in regional NSW.
The 'Let’s Hang It' exhibition, opened at the New England Regional Art Museum on Friday the 25th July and is on display until the 10th August.
Students in Year 9 and 10 elective Visual Arts classes enjoyed an excursion to Armidale on Tuesday to view ‘Lets Hang It’ as well as engage with the other exhibitions on display. Whilst there, they sketched aspects of artworks they viewed in concertina booklets in order to create a visual representation of the gallery delights. Thank you to the NERAM staff for their warm welcome to the museum and once again, well done Ben and Lachie!
