Farrer celebrates NAIDOC Week
Our Year 7 & 8 Aboriginal Cultural Day was a huge success with activities like art, dance, didgeridoo, history, artefacts, and boomerang throwing. The day ended with a wonderfully entertaining dance performance by both Year 7 & 8 students!
A big thank you to Matty and Wynona – Future Mentors for the Tamworth Opportunity Hub, Richard – Youth Program Mentor for the Walaaybaa Junior Ranger Program, and Karwin, Dheran, Bareki, Kim, Nahum, Chayse, and Robert – from the Walaaybaa Rangers for sharing their knowledge and culture with our students.
We held our NAIDOC Assembly, featuring an inspiring presentation and a live didgeridoo performance and presentation of the Deadly Awards.
Congratulations to our Deadly Award recipients: Brodie Nichols (Y8), Hayden Nichols (Y9), Coby Single (Y12), Archie Allen (Y9), Kade Strong (Y7), Riley Butcher (Y8), Mason Nairne (Y8), Orlando Follington (Y10), Logan Hayward, Tom Green (Y10), Alex Whitten (Y9), Braith Nairne (Y10), Ben Goodwin (Y12), Jacob Martin (Y9), Liam Hooper (Y11), Boston Hitchcock (Y9), and Khadyn Mason (Y10).
