Farrer Old Boy Named Finalist for Prestigious Cotton Industry Award

Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School is proud to congratulate Old Boy Jacob Booby on being named a finalist for the 2025 CRDC Chris Lehmann Young Cotton Achiever of the Year Award. This national award recognises emerging leaders who demonstrate exceptional commitment and contribution to the Australian cotton industry.

Originally from Narrabri, Jacob developed a strong connection to cotton from a young age, gaining practical experience in both ginning and agronomy before beginning his professional career with Namoi Cotton. He now holds leadership positions in three Cotton Grower Associations, playing an active role in fostering regional collaboration and innovation within the industry.

In 2024, Jacob furthered his professional development by completing the Australian Future Cotton Leaders program, cementing his place as one of the industry’s most promising young leaders.

The award winner will be announced at the Cotton Collective event in Toowoomba on 6 August 2025.

We extend our congratulations to Jacob on this well-deserved recognition and wish him the very best in the final announcement.
