Remembrance Day

November 11 is a day to reflect on the ultimate sacrifice from those who have served their country.

This year, Farrer students Iva Haling, Riley Gentle and Jack Herden represented the school with distinction.

Farrer was invited to give this year’s address on the theme of Chivalry. Iva delivered an engaging speech on the values that chivalry embodies and their relevance to today’s society and both he and Riley laid a wreath on Farrer’s behalf.

Jack was part of the Tamworth City Brass Band that played during the formal service. As a thank you for their contribution to the day, Iva was presented with a copy of The Lost Boys to be kept in the Farrer library. It details the stories of underage soldiers who fought and died during World War I.

We also held a special whole school assembly last Thursday to remember those who died while serving our country. Lest we Forget.
