RIEP Launch pad Experience

Durign Term 2 2026, a group of our students took part in the RIEP Launch Pad experience at Apollo Engineering, gaining firsthand insight into what it’s like to work in the metal fabrication industry.

Starting at 6.45am, students experienced a genuine day in the life of an apprentice, working in a live engineering workshop alongside industry professionals. They developed practical skills, completed a hands-on project in making a fire pit, and explored the wide range of career opportunities available within the engineering and manufacturing sector.

Programs like Launch Pad provide students with invaluable exposure to local industry, helping them build confidence, make connections with employers, and explore future pathways into apprenticeships and employment.
