Robotics National Championships
From the 5th–7th of December, a combined crew from Oxley High School and Farrer Memorial headed to Adelaide to compete in Australia’s
highest level of VEX Robotics.
With 200 teams nationwide, 600+ matches and nearly 3,000 attendees, the event was huge. Both Farrer’s 2340D and Oxley’s 15819C jumped
straight in, volunteering on the field setup before enjoying a well-earned BBQ to recharge.
Day 1 of competition saw Farrer set an impressive high score of 212 points, sitting 18th out of 60 in their division. A tough run followed, finishing quals in 28th, but the boys weren’t done yet.
They teamed up with a strong Victorian alliance and pushed hard into finals, dropping a brilliant 142-point match to take the lead. With only six matches left they held 1st… before eventually finishing 5th against some seriously elite competition.
