Farrer First XI Hockey are the State Champions!

After 2 gruelling and hard-fought games yesterday, Farrer proceeded to challenge Parkes High School in today's NSW State Hockey Championships Grand Final.

An evenly contested first half resulted in the teams going into half-time locked at nil all with Hamish George holding out strong in goals. Farrer looked the stronger of the teams in the second half and finally Farrer was able to secure a short corner goal from Blake Scicluna in the fourth quarter. Both teams battled it out until the final siren sounded, handing Farrer a fantastic victory 1-0.

Congratulations to the team, Mrs O'Neill, Mr Reg Straw and Mr David Batho on reclaiming the State Championship title which was last won by Farrer in 2007.
