Farrer Students In The Community

We are always excited to share stories of our students working within their local community or achieving outstanding results in their pursuits away from School.

During Term 2, Year 8 student Max Burr competed around the North West in various Dance Eisteddfods . Max trained with his studio teachers at Tamworth City Dance Academy to prepare solo pieces across various dance genres to include Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, Acro, Ballet, Own Choreography and various Improvisation challenges at each Eisteddfod. Max finished the season awarded 13 x 1st place medals, 7 x 2nd places, 4 x 3rd places and 10 x Highly Commended. Finishing off the competition season saw Max competing in the Tamworth City Dance Academy mid year showcase and studio competition and was awarded 1st place and the Intermediate High School Champion for his age category. Max also dances and trains with TCDA Show Troupe and they also had some great results this season competing against some of the Regions best dance troupes.

Year 7 student Tyler Woodard spent a day at a community landcare working bee held at Woolomin Riverside Park. Tyler’s hard work and support of the Peel River Restoration Project was greatly appreciated. He represented himself and FMAHS with great pride.

Year 11 student Corben Shepherd spent most of his holiday with the local Rural Fire Service manning the hose on the fire front at one of his neighbours property. He is also about to embark on the Kokada Trail with his family.

Year 7 student Darcy Tink participated in the Trangie Junior Judging event in Trangie during the holidays and learnt a great deal more about cattle, wool and meat sheep, wool fleeces, grain and cotton. Darcy was awarded the Trangie Junior Judging Junior Grain Champion. Congratulations Darcy!

While his team didn't win, Thomas MacAlpine of Year 9 competed and gave it his all with some very difficult climbs and showed excellent sportsmanship in Open Bouldering Finals held 26 June.
