Year 9 Elective Visual Arts

The Year 9 elective Visual Arts class trekked across to Armidale’s New England Regional Art Museum to view the UNE Student Art Prize exhibition and accompanying exhibitions on Tuesday the 8th August. It was wonderful to see Ben Cunningham’s work on display alongside other talented students from across the region. The boys engaged critically with Australian Aboriginal art from the Western Desert, artworks within the Hinton collection and the creative pieces of recent graduates from the National Art School. Grateful for the fine weather, we also soaked up some sunshine in the sculptural garden before getting some happy snaps in front of the street art style murals, a perfect visual compliment to our current unit of study, ‘Art on the Street’.
